I am donating red blood cells. They take out blood, centrifuge it, keep the blood cells, and pump the plasma back in. No worse than a regular blood donation, except it takes longer.
A weird thing to blog about I bet, but blood donations save lives, so what the heck. Plus, you know, blood, monsters, it kinda fits the theme.
I have an especially needed blood type, O+, so they’re always after me like Vampires on Fairies (True Blood? Anyone?)
Also, in my defense, I am down two pints, so I’m probably not in my right mind.
All done! Time to eat free cookies. SO many free cookies.

Anytime they let me, I do this. Surprisingly they also need AB+- as well! We are universal receivers, but that quality makes us big moochers from the other blood types. GO GIVE BLOOD if you are able to.
You go ! With the blood donation. I’m always afraid to do that because i don’t want them to pump some thing into me that wasn’t there before. Like some kind of std or parasitic alien life form.
My girlfriend was freaked out about the pumping-back-into-me part, but they are very careful, use all new materials which they unwrap in front of you. I’ve been donating blood for almost twenty years, and the procedure was always safe and has gotten safer and more sophisticated. It’s pretty cool to watch.
My wife has the “universal donor” type, so the local blood center is ALWAYS calling her.
Me, I’ve got the overachiever blood type: A+
