It’s (still) alive!
After another long dry spell ( let’s say Spring Break ) we’re back, still rubbing elbows with the superhero marketing minds of Bill Walko’s The Hero Business. I know how Franky feels here. I have a devil of a time paying attention in meetings (A.D.D.?), especially if there are action figures around. I still can’t resist them.
I hope after reading it you’re wondering what Franky’s thinking at the end. Next comic you’ll see, and it’s going to be good.

Woo hoo! Welcome back!
Thank you! I was in a dark place. It’s nicer here in the light
Oh I loves my Frankenstein Superstar. I read this three times and the first 2 I thought he was talking about her boobs when he said can I play with those and still look cool. that’s what happens when you have no pupils.
The last time I checked it before uploading I thought someone might think that’s what Franky was staring at. The misunderstanding is so funny I should say it was intentional.
Alive! It’s alive! It’s alive!
Alive, and next time, kicking.
glad to see your back
Glad to see you here, Barron!
I love how dead serious he looks in panel 1…and I’m glad to hear that I’m not the only one who misunderstood the “play with those” thought balloon!
He’s trying so hard to look like a grown up, but it’s a thin veneer.
NOTE TO FRANKIE: Power Girl is high on the list of “inappropriate contact!”
Barring Elsa initiating the inappropriate contact, of course.
The boob window in her costume just invited trouble.
Now she has a big, ugly “P”.
I bet now she doesn’t get invited to as many supervillain battles or Justice League cookouts.
Yes, it’s a horrible costume. She should take it off, right this second.
(Yes, I stole that joke from Beast Boy of the Teen Titans.)
Oh huzzah! Good to see you again John, and your comic creations. Your heart’s in the right place, Frankie, just keep working on those people skills.
Did you say PEOPLE KILLS???
Keep on trying, Franky, just like this guy:

That really hits home, both as a teacher trying to prepare students for life in the working artist’s world, and as someone who’s job hunting himself- sometimes we really need to watch our mouths before they get us into trouble.
I was actually contemplating removing it from my RSS reader because it had been so long since a new strip. But this month is like the month for excellent web comic news for me.
You’re back in the saddle, Mike Witmer is re-starting “Pinkerton” after a burnout recovery break, and Eddie Pittman has announced he’s re-starting “Red’s Planet” at the end of the month after a hiatus to deal with a move and job change. Hopefully you can all have productive summers.
And hopefully I can get my novel up on Amazon by the end of the month, launch my three new programming blogs next week, and get started on a new YA series this summer while holding down my full time gig at MSNBC and trying to be a good dad.
Not to make excuses, but it’s hard times for a lot of people. When you have issues of employment, housing, finances, family, etc. it’s hard to find the time and mental space to devote to the thing that doesn’t pay the rent yet, even if you really love it and want it to succeed. They say suffering is good for creativity, but that’s bull.
Thank you for not giving up on Franky. I promise I won’t either.
hmmm i wonder who would be good for frank
also that thor doll seems to like what frank’s thinking
